So I’ve basically been rubbish recently and not put out any music. Truth is I lost enthusiasm for sleeping peonies for a while. It’s come back, but I don’t know, I might take some time off it for a bit. There’s gonna be a release fairly soon, the “slowly disappearing” ep that was promised aaaaaaages ago, except there’s more songs on there now. It’s not really a cohesive ep like ‘ghosts’ was, it’s more a collection of songs that I made in the last year or so. Theres also a velvet cacoon cover that I did ages ago, the song ‘2’ off p aa opal….. That’s basically one of my favourite songs everrr. Don’t know what the lyrics are, I don’t think anyone does or if there even are any, so when I do vocals for it I’m just gona make up my own vocals or just make screaming noises and then make the vocals really quiet.

So anyway when this collection is put out it will be put out as a free download on bandcamp.

After this, im gona put peonies to sleep (hurr) for a while and make other music. I’m really into summoning and like early mortiis and also power metal and some new age music at the moment and have been for ages now and im gonna make some music that is inspired by all of those things. Like, ethereal ambient fantasy music. Maybe some people who like sleeping peonies will be interested but probably not. I thought about combining the two, and just making a sleeping peonies ep with that sort of music, but I don’t know, that seems unfair somehow. So I’m probably gona focus on that and maybe pick up the reins for sleeping peonies later in the year. We’ll see anyway. My moods change so quickly these days that I probably won’t even agree with this tmrw. We’ll have to see

It is that sort of day where you can hear the rain but you haven’t opened yr curtains yet and it’s one fifty six pm. You can also hear sounds of machines and stuff, mechanical sounds. That isn’t romantic. You feel stupid every time you hear the beeping of a machine. You have had a shower and brushed yr teeth but aren’t fully dressed yet. Yy semi nakedness is a challenge to the world. You are challenging the world by not taking part in it. Yr thinking about spring cleaning but yr not spring cleaning yr writing something on a computer. Yr hands are dry. Yr hair is drying. Yr taking pictures of things around you in the room. Some of those things are dolls, five dolls, none of whom are making eye contact with you. You might put the kettle on in a bit, you might even do something. Yr ok. You sometimes worry yr not, but you are, yr really ok.

I am starting night shifts tomorrow so tonight I am staying up all night to prepare for it and I am watching “kerrang” tv and it is a programme called “introducing” and all the bands are new but they all sound like they are from 2001 or something, you know that sort of sound. There’s something quite reassuring about it and it takes me back to a time when things were easier but its also depressing and most of the people are like thirty year olds still wearing Emily the strange shirts and with blue streaks in their hair and its weird and kinda depressing that to some people being “alternative” means nothing more than “pissing off” the “mainstream” by having a piercing or making funny faces.

I actually wish things were still that simple sometimes.
